My Choice of Big Walnut Educator to Award My Diploma

Diploma Presenter Policy

It has been our tradition at Big Walnut High School, for each senior to select a member of our district staff to present his or her diploma during our graduation ceremonies.  Please read carefully to ensure that you fully understand the policy.

1. Seniors may choose any Big Walnut Local School District employee or board member to present his or her diploma at graduation. This includes teachers, administrators, counselors, support staff and coaches or advisors. For coaches or advisors, the individual must be a “board approved” coach or advisor.

2. Students may select an individual who has retired from Big Walnut Local School District. It is the responsibility of the student to locate the retired individual, ask if they would be willing to present a diploma, and obtain his or her signature on the appropriate form.

3. Students who attend the Delaware Area Career Center may select an instructor from DACC. It is the responsibility of the student to communicate with the instructor, ask if they would be willing to present a diploma and obtain his or her signature on the appropriate form.

4. Students in the ROTC program may request a staff member from that program. It is the responsibility of the student to communicate with the instructor, ask if they would be willing to present a diploma and obtain his or her signature on the appropriate form.

5. Any student who does not wish to choose a diploma presenter will have their diploma given to them by his/her respective school counselor.
